A student of mine from Australia brought this with her when she heard that I had 'failed' to try the Australian sandwich spread. Heather took a nice big bite of it on toast and I tried some also - how many different ways can you say blech!!! I suppose it is one of those cases where "it's all what you're used to", but man - that stuff is pretty rough.
When I was in Australia, one of my Japanese students from back in the U.S. sent me an e-mail and asked me if I had "tried that nasty brown paste?" I hate to be so harsh on someone else's grub, but seriously, and I like almost all food, this almost made me gag last night! Bon appetito!

I can't believe you actually figured out that that's what they were saying in that song! Most of us just sang "....give you a bite of my brr brr brr sandwich" :)
I've never had it...but it alwasy reminds me of that Lucy episode..veta-vita-vegimite...or whatever the heck she was saying. Stuff looks/sounds seriously nasty.
*shudder* I've tried Vegimite...it's definitely something that you would have to be brought up on to appreciate. :)
You know, they sell that at World Market in case you need some more. :)
